La 68esima edizione dei Grammy Awards, alla Crypto.com Arena di Los Angeles, si è trasformata in un potente palcoscenico di rivendicazione politica: la celebrazione dell'eccellenza musicale si è intrecciata con dure critiche alle politiche migratorie dell'amministrazione Trump sfociate nel sangue in Minnesota con l'uccisione di due persone da parte degli agenti dell'ICE.
Il clima teso è apparso evidente fin dal tappeto rosso, per poi esplodere sul palco principale quando diversi protagonisti della serata hanno trasformato i discorsi di accettazione in atti d'accusa.
Il Grammy per la miglior canzone dell'anno è andato a Billie Eilish con "Wildflower".
La cantante ha lanciato dal palco un messaggio a favore degli immigrati, bersaglio del governo Trump. "Nessuno è illegale su una terra rubata" ai nativi americani. Il suo messaggio ha scatenato l'ovazione della platea della arena di Los Angeles. "Dobbiamo continuare a combattere e a far sentire la nostra voce e protestare, le nostre voci contano e la gente conta", ha concluso tra gli applausi.
